If you are in mortgage arrears, there are financial and legal supports in place to help you keep your home. One of these supports is financial advice from an accountant. This is a limited service, and an accountant will work with you to confirm if an alternative repayment arrangement (ARA) will suit your individual situation. There are two accountant panels that provide advice for this purpose.
The first is the Abhaile panel of accountants. This panel is for you if have been working with a money Adviser (MA) or Dedicated Mortgage Arrears (DMA) adviser in MABS and they have applied for a voucher on your behalf. You can pick your accountant from this panel to consult with and confirm your options.
The second panel is the Mortgage Arrears Information and Advice Service and is maintained by the Citizens Information Board. This panel is for you if you are working through the Mortgage Arrears Resolution Process (MARP) with your lender. You can use this panel when your lender has proposed an arrangement and has asked you to obtain independent financial advice. The cost of using this panel is paid by your lender.
